Henry Kravis

Henry Kravis who is well known as a Co-founding at Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co or well known as KKR is an American business financier and investor. By his ages of 30 he started to enter the financial sector together with his cousin, George R. Roberts. In short time they have become partners at Bear Stearns as he joined the staff of Bear Stearns under the corporate finance manager, Jerome Kohlberg, Jr.

Under Kohlberg they learned what Kohlberg called as “bootstrap” acquisition in 1976 after the three Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co were created. By selling out the undervalued small companies or operations within the larger ones he helped the management of these concerns borrow the capital to buy the business themselves. Kravis is also a Republican politics’ supporter who supported and fundraised for President George W. Bush and John McCain. Together with Lewis Eisenberg, he co-founded the Republican Leadership Council.

Instead of that he also is avid philanthropist and funds the Henry Kravis Leadership Institute and the “Henry Kravis Interships for Teachers of Color” program. Handling many of those he still be a benefactor and past chairman of New York’s public television station. Together with his wife, Marie-Josee Kravis they have donated $15 million for the “Center of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and now he sits on the board of there.
